Novo Nordisk Foundation - IAS Fellowship Programme
A new Nordic research initiative is now opening its first call!
The eight Nordic Institutes for Advanced Studies are announcing the first call for fellowships in the NNF-IAS fellowship programme to strengthen interdisciplinary research at the intersection of health and sustainability. The programme is supported by the Novo Nordisk Foundation.
The first call focuses on Inequity in Health and offers five international fellowships. Open to applicants of any nationality and discipline, the fellowships target researchers with 2–10 years of experience after their PhD and run for 23 months, full time, starting in September 2027.
The programme is designed to support research that addresses complex health challenges shaped by social, environmental and global dynamics, and to foster collaboration across disciplines and research communities.
Fellows will be based at one of four Nordic Institutes for Advanced Study - in Denmark, Finland, Norway or Sweden - while also forming part of a joint, interdisciplinary research group spanning both institutions and countries. Alongside their individual research projects, fellows will take part in collaborative activities within the programme.
The deadline for applications is 1 October 2026, and applications must be submitted through designated online system. Read the full call and the extensive guide for applicants:
