AI and the Future of Your Mind
Welcome to an online seminar with invited guest Susan Schneider, Florida Atlantic University. The seminar is organised by th Pufendorf IAS Advanced Study Group Artificial Persons
Prof. Schneider is the William F. Dietrich Distinguished Professor of Philosophy of Mind at Florida Atlantic University, where she is also the founding director of the new Center for the Future Mind. Prof. Schneider writes about the nature of the self and mind, especially from the vantage point of issues in philosophy, AI, cognitive science and astrobiology. In her recent book, Artificial You: AI and the Future of the Mind, she discusses the philosophical implications of AI, and, in particular, the enterprise of "mind design." As the the NASA-Baruch Blumberg Chair in Astrobiology, Exploration and Scientific Innovation, Prof. Schneider has recently completed a two year project with NASA on the future of intelligence. She now works with the US Congress on AI policy. She also appears frequently on television shows on stations such as PBS and The History Channel and writes opinion pieces for the New York Times, Scientific American and The Financial Times. Her work has been widely discussed in the media. She is currently working on a new book on the shape of intelligent systems.

About the ASG
The objective of the Advanced Study Group is to create a setting within which researchers from a wide range of disciplines can develop their knowledge of artificial personhood, and explore the implications of the interaction between corporations, AIs and human beings through the lens of personhood.
