Research Practices and Digital Infrastructures: Shaping the Future of Research
How will research be conducted in the future? As digital tools, data, and computational methods increasingly shape scholarly work, understanding how research practices evolve across disciplines is more important than ever.
On 23 October 2026, the Pufendorf IAS and LUNARC will host an interdisciplinary workshop on research practices and digital infrastructures.
The workshop offers an opportunity to reflect on how research is conducted across different fields; emerging challenges associated with the use of digital tools and data; and future directions for digital research support. Through short research perspectives and discussions, participants will examine how digital environments support - or fail to support - the diverse ways research is conducted today, and what is needed to enable the research of tomorrow.
Researchers interested in scholarly collaboration across disciplines, digital transformation and the future of research, are warmly invited to participate.
Participation is free of charge, but registration is required. To ensure an interactive workshop, participation is limited to 40 participants. Further information and full programme will be available after the summer holidays. Please note that while the date has been confirmed, the time may subject to change.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided. We will need registration no later than 9 October 2026. To ensure a place, you may already register your interest here - a firm registration will then be asked for after the holidays!
