Four previous Themes will return in autumn to work at the institute again, now as Themes 2.0. The institute have given previous Themes a chance to return to the institute to once again work together, during the autumn term 2021. We announced Theme 2.0 in spring and the interest in returning with newly raised questions was great ; twelve previous Themes applied. Four of these have been accepted and we are pleased to once again welcome the following four Themes:
Domestication 2.0 was formerly called Domestication: Can we correct a 10,000 year old mistake? From annual monocultures to perennial polycultures and was active during 2018-2019.

Energy Justice 2.0 - Justice in Sustainability Transitions is a development of Energy Justice - Energy for whom and for what at whose cost? The Theme worked at the institute in 2016-2017.

Hydrosolidarity 2.0 - Hydrosolidarity, ethics, and conflict solution in International Water Governance? is a continuation of the Theme Hydrosolidarity - Opportunities and constraints in water management of the Nile River from 2012-2013.

Sotinitiativet 2.0 - The air we breathe - The atmosphere, air quality and climate. The original Theme was one of the institutes' first. The institute was inaugurated in 2009 and the then Soot Initiative or Soot - Formation, atmospheric life cycle and impacts; initiative towards a multidisciplinary soot research platform at Lund University was active in 2011-2012
