NordIAS
- a Nordic network for institutes for advanced studies
The Pufendorf IAS is part of NordIAS, a network of eight Institutes for Advanced Studies in the Nordic region: Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
The aim of the NordIAS network is to increase collaboration and exchanges among the Institutes. It offers the potential for a range of cooperation opportunities, including; research exchanges; staff exchanges; joint funding applications; joint conferences, symposiums and other public events. The most popular initiative is the Fellowship Programme, allowing for researchers to take a sabbatical at one of the "sister institutes"

When - and how - did NordIAS start?
The NordIAS network was established in 2023, following the successful completion of a series of workshops entitled Beyond Advanced Studies, organized by the Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies (AIAS), the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study (SCAS) and the Turku Institute for Advanced Studies (TIAS). It was held between November 2021 and May 2022. The workshops were funded by a grant from the Joint Committee for Nordic Research Councils in the Humanities and Social Sciences (NOS-HS).
