The Alumni Network

The alumni network exists for all former members of Themes. It was formalised in 2024 when we wanted to create opportunities exclusive to Lund University researchers with experience of working at the Pufendorf Institute for Advanced Studies.

In a way, the alumni network has of course "always" existed, since 2011 anyway. Former members have been important drivers in our development and we rely on them as our ambassadors to the University. They are our best motivators and it is from them we learn and get inspiration for change and development. Needless to say, they mean a lot to us.

In autumn of 2025 we will lay the groundwork to solidify the network and we are planning new initiatives. Two are already in place;

  • An annual gathering will be held in autumn. The first one will take place on the 8th of September 2025.

This is the same day we launch the next call for Themes. Read more about the launch in the Pufendorf IAS calendar on our Swedish website:

  • The possibility to apply for a paid research exchange within the NordIAS network was launched in 2024. A second call for this exchange will be made in autumn 2025 (to be carried out in 2026). Read more about the NordIAS network and various calls:

Communication

Researchers from former Themes no longer work at Lund University may continue to be part of the network and receive information and invitations. However, certain activities will be tied to employment and will therefore only be offered to Lund University employees.

Keep a look out for e-mails from the Pufendorf IAS coordinator, Eva Persson, to get information and invitations to alumni network activities. Make sure you also subscribe to the Pufendorf IAS Newsletter, in English, which is sent out approximately twice each term.
