Pufendorf & Friends: Greyzone Genomics
Lund University offers plenty of interdisciplinary research. Pufendorf IAS' popular discussion forum, cleverly disguised as After Work, taps (pun intended) right into this: A couple of times per semester, we offer a space for informal meetings across all discipline- and faculty boundaries: by researchers for researchers.
This time, we present friends close to "home". The researchers for this evening's Pufendorf & Friends come from one of our current Themes here at the Pufendorf IAS.
This Theme contend that there are many scenarios for misuse of genetic technology in international conflict, which have been overlooked as they require a multidisciplinary approach for proper assessment. To address this, the Theme will explore novel, multidisciplinary methods for assessing risks of emerging biotechnologies, focusing on genomics and synthetic biology as potential parts of hybrid warfare.
Bring a colleague and come and listen to a conversation between:
Professor David Gisselsson Nord, Research team manager at Pathways of cancer cell evolution and vice dean at the Faculty of Medicine; Professor Jessica Almqvist at Department of Law, and deputy dean for the Faculty of Law;
Associate senior lecturer Tony Ingesson at the Department of Political Science and
our very own Director here at The Pufendorf IAS, Professor Stacey Rinstinmaa Sörensen.
Refreshments will be served, naturally. No registration necessary.
